Join us in the Jamestown Arts Center Printmaking Studio for this course in the foundations of drawing! Drawing Fundamentals is designed for those who wish to advance their current skill level, whether they have been drawing for a while or simply wish to begin. The focus will be to personalize each individual’s feedback based on their goals and experience level. Each week will include the practice of a few of the elements and principles of design, for example -  line and value, as well as balance as emphasis. The skills of observation and creativity will be developed using still life, the figure, and all levels of abstraction. In addition to demonstration, a variety of example work from artists will be used as reference. In the same vein that we know everyone can learn, we all can draw. Instruction and practice helps us improve. In an environment that is safe to take risks, and to discover your own mark making interests and style, you will find targeted instruction and high expectations from the teacher.
