Our Mission

The mission of the Jamestown Arts Center is to engage, enrich and inspire our community through extraordinary arts experiences.

The JAC is a multi-disciplinary facility created to benefit the community of Jamestown, RI, and beyond. Our programming is guided by the principles of hands on learning, the spirit of curiosity, and the synergy between art and innovation.

We support collective enrichment through interdisciplinary and inter-organizational collaborations in education, performance, exhibition, and by providing internships, mentoring, and outreach. By offering learning experiences in both traditional artistic media and design driven studies, the Jamestown Arts Center explores new perspectives for problem solving and self-expression.

JAC is a non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging the flow of imagination and self-expression. We endeavor to create one central home for the arts in Jamestown. Our line up of professional instructors will provide a wide range of classes for people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Classes will be offered in dance, theater, music, writing, and the visual and media arts.

We envision JAC as accessible and inviting to all. We see JAC becoming a hub for our town, a hive of activity where resident and visitor alike will be inspired.

JAC provides space for education, exhibition, rehearsal, performance, and interdisciplinary art camps, as well as opportunities for our community including employment, mentoring, outreach, internships, and patronage. By creating the Jamestown Arts Center, we will enrich our essential self-worth individually and collectively for years to come.
