Minimal contemporary still life will be the inspiration for learning the basics by practicing classical oil painting techniques. Beginning students will develop simple compositions into refined images by working from the general to the specific, while training their eyes to strip away what is complex in order to capture nuance. Painters who are beginning again will benefit by exploring these pure, uncomplicated still life pieces as they rediscover their visual voices.
