Learn handbuilding and wheel-throwing techniques in a fun and supportive environment! Campers will be introduced to the techniques of pinch pots, coils, slabs, the potters’ wheel, and combined building techniques. Exploring texture, contrast, colors, and form are also important parts of children’s journey with clay. Come experiment, learn, and have fun in the JAC Ceramics Studio! Campers should bring a snack and water bottle each day.
PLEASE NOTE: Creative Arts Camps meet every Thursday at a different outdoor island site in Jamestown from 12pm – 3pm. Those that register for Full Day Camps (Ceramics in the morning and Creative Arts in the afternoon) must be able to provide their own transportation from the JAC to this site on Thursday for 12pm. The Jamestown Arts Center cannot provide transportation. Carpooling is encouraged! JAC Arts Education Coordinator Seamus Hames will assist in organizing carpools to these sites.
Weekly sign-ups available! Please Pre-register.
