Physical theatre allows young actors to let go of their fears and inhibitions when forming characters, encouraging them to do rather than think. Physical theatre focuses on connecting the body and physical play to character discovery and exploration. This camp will include exploration of character walks and character centers, the relationship between sound and movement, how to move as an ensemble, using movement (rather than language) as a means of communication, and lots and lots of active play! The last day of camp will include “Sharing” — an opportunity for the students to share their work with their family and friends.
Campers should wear clothing that they are comfortable moving in. Please bring a snack and water bottle each day.
