OPEN DRAWING

Figure Drawing, all levels.
All levels are invited to this open studio class. Drawing from the model with short gesture poses, and longer poses ranging from 5 to 30 minutes. Easels supplied. Session will be lead by various artists each week, no instruction.

Tuesday evenings 6 to 8pm, running through April 27
Walk-in fee $15 per session

Class limit: minimum 6, maximum 12


ESSAY WRITING with Leslie Banker

A personal essay can be humorous, heartbreaking, informative or sentimental; it presents the writer’s unique slant on an idea or an experience, whether it’s as mundane as taking out the garbage or as fanciful as believing in fairies. This class covers the basics of essay writing for students who want to write for themselves, for publication, or both.

March 18 to April 15, 2010 Thursday evenings 6 to 8pm
Cost: $100
Minimum 6 students

Leslie, who lives in Jamestown with her husband and daughter, is the co-author of Britannia in Brief: The Scoop on All Things British (Random House, 2009), The Pocket Renovator (Rizzoli, 2007) and The Pocket Decorator (Rizzoli, 2004). She has written for publications including Edible Rhody, Interior Design, and Architectural Digest. PHOTOGRAPHIC WORKSHOP

with Eileen McCarney Muldoon & Cindy Horovitz Wilson
Digital Photography

This workshop is for beginners and intermediate photographers. The first session will focus on the basics of digital photography and gaining a fuller familiarization with one’s camera. During class students will have a hands on shooting experience and work on some of the concepts introduced. An assignment will given for the students to work on during the week. The second session will concentrate on reviewing each student’s assignment and the fundamentals of well crafted photographs. Visit their website at Profundo Journeys.com
